WORLD CUP CRAZY!!!

I don't have a long update ready...phew, thank god you say...but only a little reflection.

You will never see a group of Hondurans happier than on the day that the World Cup begins. It doesn't matter that Honduras isn't playing or that they will miss most of the games because they are being played on the other side of the world and shown live in Honduras where the time change puts them right in the middle of the work day. It will be all they talk about for the next two months, reenacting awesome plays or winning goals, judging whose team is better and which players could beat others. They will eat in front of the TV, work with the radio on, and dream of being at the games themselves. And why does the World Cup merit Teatro La Fragua taking an entire day off to watch the opening ceremonies and first day of games? In the words of my favorite Honduran: "Futbol is beautiful and it is one of the only things that makes a poor Honduran man happy." So join in with the revelry, turn on a game this weekend and cheer on a team you didn't even know existed, because the world is watching FUTBOL and you should be part of it!
